Delta has unveiled its schedule for New York‘s LaGuardia Airport, as its new domestic hub with 100 new flights to be added and 29 destinations.
The expanded LaGuardia schedule adds nonstop service to top U.S. business markets, including Miami, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Charlotte, Denver, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee and Cleveland. Delta will also fly to Chicago, Nashville, Raleigh-Durham and Portland, Mainemore frequently.
In addition, Delta will add new all-jet service from LaGuardia to upstate New York markets, including Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, replacing turboprop aircraft operated byUS Airways. Smaller communities will be serviced as well, including Wilmington, N.C.; Roanoke Va.; andBurlington, Vt. The hourly Delta Shuttle to Boston, Washington, D.C., and Chicago will continue to operate from its six gates at the Marine Air Terminal.
To accommodate these new flights, Delta will invest $100 million to expand Terminal C and D at LaGuardia, operating a total of 26 gates. A Delta Sky club will be added.
The investment will be the largest single expansion by any carrier at LaGuardia in decades. Flights will increase by 60 percents and total destinations by 75 percent. Delta will have more than 400 daily departures from LaGuardia, JFK and Newark.Delta’s expanded LaGuardia service will create an estimated 700 jobs in the New York region. Other expansion projects at JFK will generate an estimated 6,000 new jobs in New York.
