You will also find ways to combat the issues to help your immune system fight off these terrible diseases so when you arrive at your chosen destination you will be refreshed and healthy.

The first thing you want to consider and even try to avoid when you are planning your travel dates is not to travel after you have had a surgery. No matter how minor the surgery is your immune system will probably be compromised making you more susceptible to getting the common cold virus or any other bacteria/infectious disease out there. One of the worst things you can actually contract after you have had surgery pneumonia. If you find yourself absolutely needing to travel after you have recent had a surgery, make sure you are extra careful about being in areas where there are people who are sick, or who have been sick. The best thing to do is to limit your exposure to areas where you might contract a disease or illness because with a compromised immune system, one thing can lead to another.

If you have a compromised immune system it is a good idea to wash your hands regularly with soap. Running your hands under water is not a very good way to get rid of germs. The important part about washing your hands is the friction involved. It is best if you can wash your hands with warm water, but it is not necessary. If you have to wash with cold water, just be extra diligent about scrubbing your hands thoroughly.

Another thing you should do when traveling on a plane is to stay away from people who look ill. If you see someone who is coughing and blowing their nose, try to avoid them if you can. Don’t handle the same materials as they used so as to avoid getting their germs. If you have to touch things like bathroom handles and buckles to seatbelts, either sanitize these areas with a sanitary wipe, or immediately wash your hands.

Another common way to get sick when traveling is to contract an illness from the food aboard the airplane. To avoid getting sick from the food you eat you can eat a meal before you board the plane. If you are only going a short distance, you might not even need to eat a snack while you are on the flight. If you are going on a trip that will leave you on the plane for several hours, you might want to pack a snack that you can enjoy. Also, only drink bottled water once you are aboard the plane. This will help you avoid germs like E. Coli.

There are many things you can do to avoid getting a disease when you are on a plane. These tips, while not difficult, will require you to implement them in order for them to work. If you take a little time and a little effort you can likely avoid the diseases that can be caught when you are flying to your all inclusive holiday.
