All the excitement that is offered in Las Vegas, Nevada is hard to beat. Gambling, nightclubs, theater shows offering the likes of Celine Dion and Cirque du Soliel; can keep a person entertained for weeks on end. Yet, there is one opportunity a tourist would be foolish to leave out of their itinerary. That opportunity would be the Grand Canyon airplane tours.

You can take a few hours or an entire day. The duration and activities of the tour are your choice to make. You can take no more than the a short flight over the canyon itself. During the forty five minute flight from Vegas you will get to see the Mojave Desert, the Hoover Dam, and Lake Mead. Be prepared for more excitement then any other tour can possibly give.

Be sure and have your camera on board because you will see both sides of the Hoover Dam including the O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman bridge. Even the airplanes are special. Called the Vistaliner they were created specifically for sightseeing. No matter where you sit you will be afforded a fantastic view through the over sized windows that adorn the plane. The seats are plush and comfortable adding to the smooth ride.

If you wish to do more than fly over the sights of the Grand Canyon, you do have options available that will take you much closer. Our planes land at the West Rim Airport and from there the excitement can only build. Hop on board a helicopter and take a flight down into the pits of the gorge. Once at the bottom, you can board a boat for a trip down the Colorado River.

While there you can also take a stroll on the Skywalk. If you are afraid of heights you may wish to decline because this glass walkway will take you out seventy feet from the canyons West Rim. There will be nothing below you but the majesty of the Grand Canyon itself.

Some people prefer to feel and see solid ground under their feet and they will not be at a loss for things to do. The West Rim offers more than the South Rim in both shops, boutiques, and restaurants. It will be a holiday that will not be soon forgotten.

Whenever possible book your tour of the South and West Rims of the canyon online. The earlier you book, the better the rates that will be afforded to you. If you have a booking agent planning your get away, be sure and book your own tour. The lowest rates are given to the tourist and not to agents. You will receive an email confirmation that you will take with you to Vegas. Participants are picked up and dropped off at their hotel and everything else is in the hands of capable tour guides.
