Rolls-Royce To Move UK Aero Engine Plant

Rolls-Royce is to close one of its major aero-engine repair and maintenance plants in Scotland and move its operations to another facility.

Operations will move from East Kilbride where they have been for 59 years, to Inchinnan near Glasgow Airport.

The company said the East Kilbride plant would close in 2015 and that the 600-strong workforce would join the 1000 already working at Inchinnan, 16 miles away.

Rolls-Royce said the move would be more efficient, improve value for customers and deliver a better working environment for employees.
